GEORGETOWN, TX – One person died in a single-vehicle crash that happened along the interstate in Georgetown Thursday morning, reports Fox 7 Austin.
The incident happened just before 7 a.m. on the southbound side of I-35 near Leander Road, which is just south of St. David’s Georgetown Hospital.
The investigation thus far indicates that a Chevrolet pickup truck crashed into the cement center divider on the interstate, which caused the vehicle to overturn. The force of the collision ejected the driver, who died at the scene of the crash.
Police say that witnesses observed the driver speeding and driving recklessly prior to the crash.
A full investigation is underway.
