AUSTIN, TX – A 21-year-old man died Wednesday evening after crashing his vehicle on the freeway in the Wells Branch area of North Austin, KXAN reports.

Police say the incident happened around 6:45 p.m. on the northbound side of North Mopac Expressway between Howard Lane and Scofield Ridge Parkway.

For unknown reasons, the victim collided with the concrete column of a toll booth. He died while in transit to a local hospital.

Authorities identified the victim as Jackson Coulter.

The crash remains under investigation.
