AUSTIN, TX – A single-vehicle crash along the highway in east-central Austin killed one person on Sunday morning, reports KXAN.
Just before 8 a.m., crews reported to the eastbound side of East US-290 between Springdale Drive and Giles Lane. This is just northeast of Big Walnut Creek Nature Preserve.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim, nor have they commented on what might have caused the accident.
Officials warned drivers to avoid the area during the preliminary investigation and clean up efforts.
