AUSTIN, TX – A major accident along the highway in northwest Austin claimed the life of a teenager early Monday, reports KVUE Austin.
The collision occurred shortly before 2 a.m. on the northbound side of TX-360, or North Capital of Texas Highway, between Spicewood Springs Road and Great Hills Trail. This is just southwest of the Arboretum.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a vehicle carrying a 17-year-old driver and one other passenger crashed.
The teen driver, identified as a senior from Anderson High School, died at the scene.
Medics transported the passenger to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
