AUSTIN, TX – One person went to the hospital Friday morning after their vehicle crashed along the freeway in south Austin, reports ATCEMS.

The incident happened around 9:30 a.m. in the area of 3700 South Mopac Expressway southbound, which is just west of Sunset Valley Village.
It’s not yet clear what caused the crash, but police say one person required extrication after becoming pinned beneath their vehicle.
Medics transported that person to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center with serious injuries.
Officials encouraged drivers to avoid the area while crews investigated and worked to clear the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
