AUSTIN, TX – A 14-year-old girl died last Friday in the hospital after suffering from serious injuries sustained in a late December crash.
According to KXAN, a vehicle struck the teen pedestrian at 6:44 p.m. on December 30th on Farmhaven Road near the intersection with Lansdowne, which is just west of the Bellingham Meadows Greenbelt in northeast Austin.
Medics transported the unconscious pedestrian to Dell-Seton Medical Center with critical injuries.
Immediately after the accident, KXAN reported that the teen had been riding a scooter at the time of the crash and that the driver of the vehicle that struck her did not remain at the scene.
Following the teen’s death, APD says they are still investigating the incident and looking for the driver and vehicle responsible for the crash.
