SAN MARCOS, TX – An 18-year-old student was killed in a hit-and-run on the evening of Monday, Jan. 3 on I-35 near Wonder World Drive, reports KSAT 12.

According to reports, the student’s silver Mazda was struck by a commercial truck in the northbound lanes of I-35 near where it meets with Wonder World Drive. The truck fled the scene shortly after striking the Mazda and did not offer aid.

Police have since released surveillance footage showing the box truck they suspect to be responsible for the collision alongside a physical description of the vehicle. This situation is currently being investigated by police as a felony offense of an accident involving death.

Police are asking for any witnesses to share any relevant information with them.
