AUSTIN, TX – Two people were transported to the hosptial following a multi-vehicle collision along Interstate 35 Friday evening.

According to the Austin – Travis County EMS official Twitter page, the incident occurred within the 4700 block of I-35 north just before 7:00 p.m.

Officials say there were 4 vehicles involved in the crash. One patient was extracted and taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with possibly life-threatening injuries immediately following the crash. Another victim was transported with less serious injuries and is expected to survive.

No word regarding what may have caused the crash has been made available as of Friday night. We will continue to monitor this ongoing story and provide any pertinent information as it is released by North Austin police.
