AUSTIN, TX – One person was badly hurt Saturday evening when a vehicle struck them along a major roadway in central Austin, reports CBS Austin.
The accident happened around 6 p.m. at the intersection of West Koenig Lane and Burnet Road in the Allandale area. This is just south of Lamar Middle School.
Police are still investigating to determine the circumstances of the crash. It’s unclear if the pedestrian was using a designated crosswalk when the collision occurred.
Medics transported the victim to Dell Seton Medical Center with serious injuries.
There’s no word yet regarding the driver involved in the crash, but authorities are not calling this a hit-and-run accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
