AUSTIN, TX – A pedestrian went to the hospital with critical injuries after a vehicle struck them along a highway in far west Austin, reports ATCEMS.

The incident happened at 6:52 a.m. in the area of 8000 N FM 620, which is near the intersection with Vista Parke Drive.
Medics reported the pedestrian unconscious at the scene and transported them as a trauma alert to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center.
Police haven’t disclosed yet whether the vehicle involved in the accident remained at the scene to render aid and speak with authorities.
Officials warned of significant delays and encouraged motorists to avoid the area.
