AUSTIN, TX – An adult pedestrian died Saturday night after being hit by a vehicle on a busy roadway in east Austin, reports KXAN. 

Police say the incident happened just before 10 p.m. on Airport Boulevard near Oak Springs Drive, which is just south of East 12th Street and Evergreen Cemetery.

Authorities have not released many details regarding the circumstances of the collision. Motorists were asked to avoid the area Saturday night and to seek alternate routes.
