AUSTIN, TX – One person died on Thursday morning just north of the St. John’s area in Austin when a vehicle struck them, reports ATCEMS.

The incident happened at 6:55 a.m. on the northbound service road for I-35 near East Powell Lane, which is just north of the junction with TX-183.
It’s not yet clear how the crash happened and if the vehicle involved in the accident remained at the scene to render aid and speak with police.
Authorities pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene of the collision. They’ve not yet released the identity of the victim.
