ROUND ROCK, TX – A 31-year-old woman died last Friday night after a vehicle struck her along the interstate in Round Rock, reports KVUE.

The incident happened around 9:52 p.m. on North I-35 just south of Old Settlers Boulevard and north of the Chasco Family YMCA.

Police say they responded to a report of a woman lying on the shoulder of the interstate. Authorities declared her dead at the scene. They identified the victim as Jennifer Wingard from Round Rock.

At this time, the cause of the accident is unclear. The driver involved in the accident remained on site to speak with authorities.

A full investigation is underway.
