KILLEEN, TX – A woman died Wednesday afternoon in Killeen after a vehicle struck her at a busy intersection, reports KWTX 10.

The incident happened at 2:42 p.m. in the area of 2800 East Veterans Memorial Boulevard, which is between South 38th Street and West South Young Drive.

Police say the pedestrian was crossing Veterans Memorial when an eastbound Chevy pickup hit her.

Medics tried to resuscitate the victim, but she died from injuries sustained in the crash. Authorities have not yet released her name to the public.

It’s unclear if the driver of the red pickup truck remained at the scene to render aid and speak with police.

A full investigation is underway.
