TRAVIS COUNTY, TX – Police say a Travis County woman died after a car crashed into a retention pond Wednesday night, reports KAXN.
Bee Cave police officers responded to the scene at the Hill Country Galleria on Market Street shortly before 9 p.m. The car had plunged into the pond and ended up on its roof.
Rescue crews managed to extricate the woman from the car that was submerged in the water and transported her to the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Lakeway. But she was pronounced dead at the hospital about an hour after the accident. The victim was a 72-year-old woman whose name was not immediately released.
