AUSTIN, TX – One person died, and another was transported via air ambulance Monday after a wrong-way crash in North Austin, reports KVUE.

The incident occurred sometime before midnight at the intersection of the northbound service road of Research Boulevard and West Braker Lane. This is just south of Ascension Seton Northwest Hospital.

Police say that a white vehicle entered the wrong side of the Research Boulevard service road and crashed head-on into another vehicle.

A woman from the second vehicle died at the scene of the accident. Authorities have not yet released her identity to the public.

Medics transported four additional people, including three children, to local hospitals for injuries sustained in the crash.

It is unclear if the wrong-way driver required hospitalization.

A full investigation is underway.
