SALADO, TX – A woman died, and a child sustained serious injuries Wednesday in a wrong-way crash along a major Salado roadway, reports Fox 44 News.
The accident happened just before 5:20 p.m. on Thomas Arnold Road near West Creek Drive. This is just west of Thomas Arnold Elementary School.
Police say that the victim’s westbound 2017 Honda Accord collided with an eastbound 1988 Ford pickup truck when one of the two drivers failed to maintain their lane.
The driver of the Honda, identified as Kimberly Kosh-Ruiz, died after transport to an area hospital. Authorities say she was a teacher at a local elementary school.
The victim’s nine-year-old son, who was a passenger in the Honda, went to the hospital with serious injuries.
Medics transported the driver of the Ford to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
