MILAM CO., TX – Two women sustained fatal injuries Sunday evening in a wrong-way crash along the highway in central Milam County.

According to KWTX 10, the accident happened just after 6 p.m. on TX-36 near County Road 238. This is between Hoyte and Cameron.

Police say that a northbound GMC Acadia SUV collided head-on with a southbound Mazda CX-5 when the driver of the GMC attempted to pass other vehicles. 

The driver of the Mazda, identified as 53-year-old Lisa Anne Dealy, died at the scene of the accident.

The wrong-way driver, identified as 62-year-old Marcia Lynn Sinegal, died after transport to an Austin hospital.

A full investigation is underway.
