AUSTIN, TX – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a garbage truck near downtown Austin early last Friday morning, according to KXAN.

Police say the victims was struck in a parking lot near the intersection of South Congress Avenue and East Riverside Drive at about 3:30 a.m.

The pedestrian died at the scene. Their identity is being withheld pending further investigation.
