ROUND ROCK, TX – Two people sustained injuries Sunday morning when a train collided with a car in Round Rock, reports KXAN.
The accident happened around 7 a.m. at a railroad crossing in the area of East McNeil Road and County Road 172. This is just south of the Round Rock West Greenbelt in the Westwind area.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a car with two occupants was stopped on the tracks when the Union Pacific train struck it.
Medics transported both people from the car to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
No other injuries have been noted in connection to the crash.
Officials closed the the intersection for over four hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
