AUSTIN, TX – According to KXAN, a driver crashed into a gas main and caused a potential gas leak in the San Marcos Police Department building last night. The building, located at 2300 South Interstate 35, was evacuated while Centerpoint Gas inspected the building for evidence of a leak. The non-emergency 911 line was not operational during the evacuation. Police officers and staff were allowed back into the building at around 10:55 p.m.
At this time, it’s unclear why the vehicle crashed into a gas main. Police have not released any details about the suspected vehicle. Our team will monitor the situation and post an update if new information becomes available.
