AUSTIN, TX – A 51-year-old woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after causing a head-on collision on Sunday night. According to FOX 7 Austin, Kelly Murphy was driving her 2020 silver Dodge Challenger the wrong way on the Capitol of Texas Highway when she crashed head-on into another vehicle. Austin Police arrived on the scene to the 3400 block of southbound Capitol of Texas Highway at around 10:15 p.m.
Police report that Murphy was disoriented and slurring her speech when they arrived. She admitted to police that she had taken several prescription medications and drank a glass of wine. Murphy was arrested at the scene. It’s unclear at this time if the other driver was injured in the crash.
