AUSTIN, TX – A pedestrian was killed early this morning in North Austin at around 2:44 a.m. According to the Austin American-Statesman, a person was walking on the southbound lanes of Interstate 35 in the 12100 block of the highway near Parmer Lane. A four-door sedan was entering the highway and struck the pedestrian. CPR was used on the individual but that the person died at the scene of the accident.
Austin Police said that the driver of the sedan stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The southbound lanes of the highway were closed for about two hours for investigation and cleanup.
