AUSTIN, TX – A 38-year-old man was killed on Monday, April 20th, after being struck by a box truck at 9100 Parmer Lane. The pedestrian, now identified as Bruce Chavez, was walking in the middle lane of westbound East Parmer Lane around midnight when he was struck by an eastbound white Freightliner box truck. Emergency responders pronounced Chavez dead at the scene of the accident.

KXAN reports that the driver of the box truck stayed on-site and cooperated with Austin police.
