AUSTIN, TX – A 7-year-old child is now the third victim to die from a rollover crash in San Marcos on Saturday night. A family of 10 was driving from San Antonio to Austin for a family reunion when they crashed their 2002 Ford Explorer and rolled off the highway at the 200 block of northbound I-35. Nine of the ten people inside the vehicle were ejected from the Explorer. Police say that only the driver was wearing a seatbelt.
KXAN reports that a 23-year-old and a 31-year-old died earlier this week from injuries related to the crash.
Police are investigating the situation but say that speed and a blown tire were likely components in the accident.
