LOCKHART, TX – An 18-year-old woman died last Tuesday after a head-on collision along State Park Road in western Caldwell County, reports Fox San Antonio.
The incident happened just after 9:30 a.m. in the area of 9600 FM 20, or State Park Road, which is between Fentress and Lockhart.
Police say the woman was headed northbound on her way to Lockhart High School when she entered the southbound lane of traffic and collided head-on with another vehicle.
The young woman died at the scene of the crash. Authorities identified the victim as Yairette Tovar. She was a senior at Lockhart High School.
It’s not yet clear why Tovar was travelling on the wrong side of the roadway.
No other injuries have been reported at this time.
A full investigation is underway.
